CRANK

Crank. Honestly before I read this book I had no idea what crank even was.  It sounded like something that made you happy and made you want to enjoy life.  There has been quite a few time where I have said “IM CRANKED!” just because I thought it was another word for overly excited, or happy. Well in the book I have realized that’s what it is something that is overly exciting to do, something that you never want to stop. It’s a perfect title; no one wants to stop being overly excited and happy about life, and completely numb to everything that brings them down. Well that’s exactly what crank is something that makes you numb and invisible to everything, something that you don’t want to end.  When it does everything just hits you twice as hard. Crank is another word for the monster, cocaine.  Which fits this book extremely well because that’s exactly what it does makes you want to live the fast life, until it wears off and you have zero control of anything.

Free Choice

As of today teenagers don’t realize the concsiquences for their actions. They can either be positive or negative based on what the situation. Just like Kristina in the book Crank, she didn’t realize by snorting her first line of cocain she would be automatically addicted and her life would not be the same ever again. This is the one thing that bothers me that most is when people have no idea what they are getting  theirselves into. It can really be devestating. Just for the fact of knowing how much potiental that  certain person really has and they are throwing it all away by making idiotic choices that they think is a one time thing that they will never try again, until they cant seem to put it down. Drugs and alcohol is an on going issue around the world especially in teens due to try to be “cool” or in a certain click. It is heart wrenching to watch, Especially how Kristina (Bree) went down hill so fast, and she doesn’t know if she will ever be on track again.  As of last week I lost a friend in a traffic accident that involved alcohol. No one ever seen that coming because we tend to think that we are unbreakable. Well that definitly proved to me that, that isnt the case anymore. I just think that people really need to realize the consiquiences of their actions.

Crank

I haven't read much crank, but I can tell it will be one of my favorite books. Just for the fact that it has to deal with addictions. The main character in the book is Kristina (Bree). She is an extraordinary average teenager that gets let down the wrong path by her father and boyfriend. After she takes the first line her life is changed forever, and there really isn't anything she can do about it. Once you get stuck on something like that there really isn't anything you can do about. especially when your boyfriend and dad support your habit, and make you think that you need it. Just by reading the first 50 pages of the book i was addicted. The writer of the book made it kinda hard to read at first due to the poems that tell the story but after the first few segments be prepared to be addicted. I never knew how powerful crank was until it gets in complete detail about the feelings and affects. Extremely powerful!

Free choice week 7 =)

So last week in the mail my grandma received a letter in the mail from my sister’s school. About how there is a lot of bullying in the middle school and their goal this year is to try and resolve as much of it as possible by setting more rules, and doing certain activities that will address that bullying is a problem.
By reading that I was just shocked about how big of a problem it really is. I never really noticed it till I started reading Thirteen Reasons Why. Just by listening to my sisters conversations with her friends it really is a MAJOR problem. I’m really glad that the school has noticed that it is becoming a problem other then ignoring like other schools have. Kinda makes me feel better and not so paranoid about what my sister and her friends are gossiping about.

Free Choice on 13 Reasons why.

In thirteen reasons why there are a lot of things that I am confused about. I don’t really understand why she is so calm about committing suicide. Her voice in the tapes are just so calm. Its kinda shocking to me. I think that it takes a lot to actually do let alone make tapes about doing it. Also the reasons she gives people in the tapes doesn’t make much sense to me to why she would make take some of those things as personally as she does. I don’t think someone would actually commit suicide over some of the things she is made about. I could see her maybe thinking about it if the situations where a little more serious or if they kept being dragged on. Then again who knows, we don’t really know the whole story. I just hope that soon we find out more of an important situation to why she did do it and why she made the tapes. Was is for revenge? So far this hasn’t been the best book or one of the top books that I have read. I hope it gets better and things seem to join together. Even though this is only like the third chapter =)

13 Reasons why =)

In the book 13 Reasons Why the main character Hannah Baker committed suicide. The reason why she committed suicide was because of all the drama and how people treated her in school. The people that Hannah thought had some impact on her suicide she made tapes for them to listen to so they would know what the did wrong. Personally I think by making the tapes it is just a way to create drama for the people that caused her pain in the long run. Why would she expose how people treated her to the whole school if she didn't? Even though I think the stories she tells in the tapes she makes to me aren't legit reasons to commit suicide. Unless she hasn't told the whole story about each person.. or during the end of the story all the tapes tie together so that link to one tragic event. It's also a little weird how she takes her suicide so calmly during the tapes. I just hope that throughout the book she will explain herself better and maybe the stories will be more serious.

Child Called It.

So as of last night I finished The Lost boy by David Pelzer for the second time. Which was incredible. It's like I can't get enough of that book! The first book The Child Called it was fabulous and I highly recommend it to people who love to help people. It kinda puts things in perspective when you think you have it rough. It just makes you realize and appreciate life and the things you have a little bit more.

The Child Called it is really emotionally touching book. It is about this young boy who lives with his mom who drinks heavily and physically and emotionally abuses him. His dad and siblings just kinda ignore it because they don't want to have to deal with the mother. So it's just a lost easier just to ignore the situation. Which makes the little boy feel useless and abandoned. He has no hope until one day he goes to school and talks to a teacher and realizes that the way he is being treated isn't right. So after he realizes that it kinda gives you hope for his well-being.

Blog test

Overall I'm not much of a reader. When i do read I love to read books about other peoples' family situations, and people who have addictions. Yet, when twilight came out i was a BIG fan!  When I'm not reading a book all my reading attention goes to face book and text messages. I could sadly say one of my hobbies would have to be reading people's face book status's/ posting.
